About Detective Destinations
We are a collective of highly decorated, former detectives from the Metropolitan Police, including specialist units such as the Murder Squad and Special Branch. Over the course of our careers, our work took us across the UK and around the world – following leads, managing complex operations, and navigating unfamiliar environments where attention to detail, discretion, and planning were essential.
Max served for many years as a Metropolitan Police detective, working at the highest levels of serious and complex investigation. His service was recognised with the Queen’s Gallantry Medal, awarded for acts of exceptional bravery. During his career, Max was also formally received by Her Majesty The Queen on multiple occasions, reflecting the level of trust placed in him and the seriousness of the work he carried out.
Today, we bring that same expertise to a very different mission: creating exceptional, private escorted travel experiences that are as fascinating as they are reassuring.

Meet Max
After retiring from a distinguished career with the Metropolitan Police and Scotland Yard, I began sharing a different side of my experience: guiding private escorted tours for travellers who want more than surface-level sightseeing.
My career took me across the UK and overseas, including postings in Thailand, where I explored significant historical sites such as the River Kwai and neighbouring Cambodia. Today, I combine that international experience with careful planning, attention to detail, and a deep respect for history to create bespoke travel experiences for my guests.
